Top 5 Series - Drug Store Foundations

I can not live without foundation so choosing just 5 was a difficult task, and it made me realise I only really use 3 drug store brands. I really struggle with my skin so I do tend to stick with what I know and don't venture out of my brand comfort zone

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation - £8.99
Colour : Ivory Purchase
I have no idea what it is with Rimmel foundation but I just want to eat it every time I use them, this one I have found many people have a love hate relationship with due to the shimmers in the product. Personally I love them, I only ever see them in artificial light such as kitchens & bathrooms and no one notices it otherwise. It gives me a nice radiant look making my skin look 1000% better than it did when I woke up. It's a thick consistency and blends really easily although only down side is their shade range isn't exactly amazing. One good thing is there are many shops such as Saver & Asda that often offer Rimmel products for under £5!

Maybelline New York Super Stay 24 - £8.99
Colour : 10 Ivory Purchase
This is a recent repurchase and so the first time trying out the new formula and I have to admit I love it even more. I have found the reformulation of this product has made it last on my skin even longer and I don't need to touch up as much throughout the day. Once again it is really bendable and I prefer applying this with my Beauty Blender to get the best coverage. I am a bit bias with the whole Super Stay 24 line as I do think you can not beat the value and quality of their products. I do tend to forget I am even wearing this foundation as it is so light weight. To me personally I find it comparable to the Revlon Colour Stay foundation but due to the price point I do tend to pick this one up a lot more

Maybelline New York Dream Satin Liquid - £7.99
Colour : 10 Ivory - Purchase
Back in my teens I used to adore the Dream Matte Mousse version unaware of the major cake face issue. Since the liquid version was launched I honestly don't think I picked up the mousse again. I suffer major pores problems I think I am more pore than face if I am honest and I do find with a good primer and this foundation it does help them appear smaller. It does transfer easily but I feel like I am happy to pay that price for amazing looking skin. I just use my fingers to apply this as it is the easiest way for me to do it with the best results. As much as my Beauty Blender is my best friend I sometime find when combined with this foundation it doesn't always hide my pores

L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint - £9.99
Colour : 100 PorcelainPurchase
When this was launched I was sceptical, I just didn't think the coverage would work for me and it would just look horrendous. Fast forward to the Summer and Oh My God!! I need this in my life, when we actually get some sunshine and some heat I hate wearing foundation it always feels too heavy except this one. As it is such a thin constancy it is heaven to apply and also strangely refreshing. The packaging is such a winner for me, it looks so sleek and almost like it doesn't belong in the drug store. It is so easy to apply (again with clean fingers) as the formula is so water like, the coverage is buildable but you would never get it to be full coverage but in the peak of summer (so about 2 days in the year) you wouldn't want anything else

L'oreal Paris Infallible 24 Hour - £9.99
Colour : 140 Golden Beige  - Purchase
This I think may actually be my favourite drug store foundation of all time, it is full coverage and lasts all day, I don't even really need to touch up this when I wear it. I use this with my beauty blender and get a flawless look even with my pores. It is amazing in my opinion however as with all products there is a but, I have oily skin so I can't get away with wearing this with no primer however just for the coverage and staying power it still is a fav even if I do need to always wear a primer with it
