What's on in Bristol May 2016

So I thought it might be a cool idea to share a handful of things which are going on in and around Bristol in May and what I am going to or debating going to! If you guys have anything planned let me know!

Afternoon Trip To Beese's Tea Gardens
April - September - Bristol Harbour
Now this is one thing I can highly recommend, I most likely wont be going in May but during the Summer I will definitely be going on this trip. You have a tour of the harbour then cruise up the River Avon to Beese's Tea Gardens near Hanham. This trip is every Sunday so perfect for families but they also do a variety of different trips including lunch cruises

Cream Tea on the Matthew
05th May - The Matthew
This does exactly what it says on the tin, it's cream tea on the replica of the ship that discovered North America

Planetarium Nights
05th May 12th May - @Bristol
Now once again this is my inner geek coming out but this would make for a good night out! Cocktails at Las Iguanas then hop over to the planetarium located by @Bristol to explore Space. Love it!

German Bierfest
05th - 08th May - Millennium Square
This is the first time the German Bierfest has visited Bristol so I'm not sure what to expect, it says there is a family atmosphere so think I might head on over as a family, there is a fun area for little ones with traditional German games and of course lots of beer and bratwursts

12th-22nd May - Across the whole city
I've never actually been to Mayfest but I have read about it and it does sound interesting. It is an annual festival celebrating contemporary theatre with shows being performed throughout the city

Murder Mystery Evening
13th May - The Grand Pier Weston Super Mare
I love a bit of a murder mystery, I honestly think I was a CSI in my past life, or it could be because I watch 5USA far too much and there is a CSI session on from about 11pm-4am. The evening consists of pre dinner drinks followed by a 3 course meal then you set off hunting clues to solve the strange murder on the pier

Gin Festival
13th - 15th May - The Paintworks
Unfortunately the Bristol event is sold out however there are more events taking place all around the UK and it appears to be a gin drinkers heaven. Over 100 gin samples to try! I'm attending the Saturday evening session and honestly I can not wait! I may be trying to loose weight but who needs the gym when you can have gin!

Bristol's Lost City
30th May - Bristol Cathedral
Being a bit of a geek, I love a bit of history especially local history and this expedition is showing the changes Bristol made during the 1914's. I'm hoping I can make it to this however with a little one it's hard to plan in advance!

There is so much more going on in and around Bristol in May and above are just a few of the events and activities that jumped out at me. You can find more here but guarantee there is something for everyone
